The Middle Atlantic Actuarial Club was
founded in 1935. Because of its unique geographic location, the membership includes actuaries from virtually all disciplines and corporate affiliations. Anyone familiar with the actuarial literature will recognize many familiar names in the membership roles.
The club does not maintain an official membership role, but over 100 members
have attended meetings in the recent past. The meetings draw mainly from Maryland, the District of Columbia, and Virginia. A few expatriates have stayed with the club after moving to other areas.
Although the club charter refers to these specific geographic locations, we welcome any actuary or interested person at our annual meetings.
Annual meetings have substantive professional content, but are quite informal
and the club encourages new members of our profession to attend and actively participate. Each year sessions are planned to provide credits for the Enrolled Actuary and for Continuing Education.
